The Still Here Anthology, edited by Mason J. and Natalia M. Vigil, showcases the unique narratives of LGBTQIA2S+ people raised in San Francisco. These experiences are the foundation of Still Here’s work exploring queerness, coming out, AIDS/HIV, loss, reclaiming intergenerational memory, legacy, ancestors, and more.
We believe that as storytellers, poets, and multimedia we can contribute profound re-understanding of time and place. We believe it is critical to voice our complex experiences with strong San Francisco roots and understand that we have made profound contributions to San Francisco.

Queer and trans people of color raised in San Francisco tell their stories in a first-of-its kind non-fiction anthology.
San Francisco, CA (June, 7, 2019) - for queer and trans people of color born and raised in San Francisco, the challenge to have visibility is difficult, as the people and spaces most familiar are erased daily.
In Still Here San Francisco: an Anthology of queer and trans people raised in San Francisco, survivors of displacement and other results of gentrification and oppression find their voice and tell stories of survival in print form. Still Here San Francisco is an annual performance and cultural documentation project that reveals the experiences of Queer/LGBTQI2S+ individuals raised in San Francisco and still living in San Francisco/Bay Area. Each year, the annual show is one of the most popular parts of the National Queer Arts Festival in June.
